1.Enhanced Welcome Email Notification
If the Onboarding process is restarted after Onboarding initiation and before the New Hire Data review step, then the welcome email notification is sent to new hires after completing the New Hire Data review step.
Configuration Requirements
- The welcome email notification is sent automatically only for the default process variant, Welcome Email ((ONB) External User Welcome Message Trigger. For customized process variant, you must configure the change by choosing Save and Validate and then choose Activate.
- This change is applicable only for the new onboarding process initiations.
- Ensure you’ve updated the custom process variant in Process Variant Manager.
What’s Changed
In the current version, the welcome email notification is sent to new hires if the onboarding process is restarted before the New Hire Data review step.
In the previous version, the welcome email notification wasn’t sent to new hires when the process was restarted before the New Hire Data review step.

2.Changes to Role-Based Permissions for Rehire with New Employment
As part of the enhancements to the Rehire feature, you must now configure the Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employment (by ‘match’ in New Hire) permission to enable Rehire with New Employment. Also, you must have this permission to view the details of rehires with new employment information on the Manage Pending Hires page.
The Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employment (by ‘match’ in New Hire) permission allows you to view a narrowed down list of candidates who are potential matches for rehire with new employment.

The previous permission, Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employment is no longer effective. To continue using the Rehire with New Employment feature, you must configure the Rehire Inactive Employee with New Employment (by ‘match’ in New Hire) permission.

3.Enhancements to Onboarding Process for Internal Hires
We’ve improved some of the data validation processes by leveraging functionalities of Centralized Services in Employee Central to enhance the onboarding process for internal hires.
We built this enhancement to support the following on the data review pages:
- Rule support for onChange and onSave events for the Employee Central entities: Employment_Info, Comp_Info, Job_Relations_Info, Pay_Component_Recurring, and Pay_Component_Non_Recurring. Rule support is also available for the onPostSave event corresponding to the Job_Info entity in Employee Central.
- Better maintenance of job relationships in the employee profile of an internal hire by eliminating duplicate entries when a new job relationship from Recruiting is passed to Onboarding using the Recruit-to-Hire Data Mapping tool.
- Country/region-specific field mapping for data entity fields mapped between Recruiting and Employee Central.
Configuration Requirements
The new Admin Center Onboarding General Settings Enable Enhanced Internal Hire Process switch is enabled.

4.Compliance Form Updates for Onboarding
We support new compliance forms in addition to the existing forms in SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding.
We continue to support new forms with SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding. Starting in October 2022, we moved compliance form updates out of the What’s New Viewer. We update compliance forms when the local jurisdiction updates and we wanted to move quickly during times when local jurisdictions update their requirements.
