1.Enhanced Internal Hire Process
We’ve enhanced the Internal Hire process to retain the existing employee data in Employee Central that are not passed from Recruiting Management using Recruit-to-Hire Data Mapping.
All the fields that are passed from Recruiting Management using Recurit-to-Hire Data Mapping are overwritten and rest of the fields are copied from the previous record to Employee Central.
With this enhancement, for job information fields in Employee Data Model or compensation information in Succession Data Model, marked as mandatory that aren’t passed from Recruiting Management either because they aren’t mapped or they’re mapped with no value to send, then we show the existing data from the employee’s record in New Hire Data Review page.
What’s Changed
In the current version, the internal hire process isn’t blocked if some of the:
- Job information fields, marked as mandatory in the Employee Data Model aren’t passed from Recruiting Management.
- Compensation information fields having invalid values and marked as mandatory that are passed from Recruiting Management.
In the previous version, we used to block the internal hire process if some of the
- Job information fields, marked as mandatory in the Employee Data Model but aren’t passed from Recruiting Management.

2.Enhanced Read Access Logging in Onboarding
The read access log now includes the context and reason for sensitive personal data fields in SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding.Read access log context and reason are captured for sensitive personal data fields that are read from:
- UI
- API (accessing from API)
- File Name (documents downloaded and sent through email as an attachment)
- Reports
This enhancement helps Data Protection Officers to understand the reason and legitimacy for accessing sensitive personal data fields and take the required action.

3.Onboarding Terminology Updates
The Onboarding product version available prior to Q4 2019, referred to as Onboarding in existing documentation, will be referred to as Onboarding 1.0 going forward. The Onboarding product version that was generally available in Q4 2019, referred to as Onboarding 2.0 in existing documentation, will be referred to as Onboarding going forward. The changes are visible on the user interface pages of both Onboarding 1.0 and Onboarding. For more information, refer to the community blog link in the Related Information section.
We also updated the terminology in the Manage Pending Hires tool to comply with the new naming strategy for the two Onboarding product versions.
This enhancement allows us to be consistent with our innovation strategy.

4.E-Verify
E-Verify is a web-based system that allows any United States (U.S.) employer to electronically verify the employment eligibility of all newly hired employees.
Preconfigured, customizable email notification templates are available that notify onboarding participants of pending compliance tasks. The E-Verify Test Account is a mock-service that is available for testing E-Verify scenarios. SuccessFactors Onboarding H1 2021 Updates
Configuration Requirements
- Configure business rules for triggering E-Verify.
- Create a responsible group for the E-Verify task.
- Configure a business rule to assign a corporate compliance representative to the E-Verify task.
- Run the Biz Daily Rule job to enable the Compliance Feature and role-based permissions for E-Verify.
- Enable the United States compliance settings toggle for E-Verify.
- Enable DHS mock-service to test E-Verify scenarios.
